Decembers on its way...

Turkey Day has passed and it is now almost December, I cant believe it! Getting into the Christmas season is always so exciting though. My favorite time of the year is putting up the Christmas decorations. Our family tradition is to put the tree, lights and all the decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. That's been our family tradition here at the Mickow home since before I can even remember. Now that Kristi and I are getting older and we're all so busy it doesn't usually happen the day after anymore. However, it still happens over the weekend and I always have fun doing it. Today I worked all morning but they still left some ornaments for me to put on the tree and the beeds and garland as well. Thus, my mother and I have just finished up decorating the tree and getting the stockings set up. I'm so glad Christmas is on its way, I love shopping for Christmas presents. Before I know it Christmas will be over though and I'll have to take all the decorations down which is the worst part of the whole year. Happy Holidays all!

Turkey Day!

Today was the best Turkey Day ever! I didn't have to work until 5:00 pm so I was still able to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with everyone. Mom and Dad, Grandma, Kristi, her boyfriend Shawn and I all went over to my Aunt Laurel and Uncle Larry's house. Jessica and Carl were there to and we all got to hang out and catch up. We ate the best dinner ever and chatted for a while, it was great and the food was yummylicious. I ate as much as I could so I wouldn't be hungry at work. However, I still ended up eating a ton at work after that as well because they had so many yummy things there to. They had sandwich's from Jimmy Johns, all kinds of deserts and chips. I was surprised how much food they had for us so I was snacking all night long. It was nice to visit with everyone today and of course watch uncle Larry cut the turkey in his apple apron. I took many pictures of course and I got a video of uncle Larry doing his best turkey impression, that's our new tradition! Happy Turkey Day everyone!

Taylors Birthday

Today was my best friend Taylor Chester's 17th birthday family party. Her official birthday has already passed, it was on November 10th. It's hard to believe that she is seventeen this year. Her and her sister and Kristi and I are the best of friends! We've been best friends and have been hanging out since before Taylor could even walk and now Taylor has turned 17. The youngest of our group is seventeen now, shes even past the driving stage. We're all getting so old!
I'm so glad I was able to make the party. I worked in the morning and was able to hang out at the party all night long. Unfortunately Kristi had to work until 7:00 so she was only able to stop by for a little bit afterwards.
Its been so many wonderful years, alot of great memories. We started watching all there old home videos from when we were all kids later on at the party. They were addicting, they have so many. It brought back so many memories, one day I want to tackle them all. I wish my family had owned a video camera while I was growing up!
When I'm older and have a family I'll be documenting every moment because looking back when your older is just amazing. That feeling is so great!
Happy Birthday Taylor!

55 Years Old!

Today was my dads birthday, we had Aunt Laurel and Uncle Larry over for the Bears game. I hung around for a little bit but then I got called into work so unfortunately I had to leave. I hope my dad enjoyed his birthday though! They all ordered Italian food from Rosati's pizzeria. Italian food is my dads absolute favorite kind of food, you'd think he was half Italian! He complains my mom doesn't make him Italian food enough so I'm sure he enjoyed his dinner very much.
The beer brewing kit that him and my mom bought he considers his birthday present. The first batch they made was a success and we were all able to try some. I don't like beer so of course I thought it was disgusting. However, everyone else thought it was great and they've been drinking it alot. The flavor they made was called October Fest which is a darker beer apparently. Now my dads very excited because he has a new hobby, making beer.

Liquify Tool- Photoshop

Today in my Advanced Image Manipulation class which is basically a class all about advanced photoshopping we learned a new tool. This new tool is called the liquify tool and basically, you can make people fatter or skinnyer with it. You can make somebodys eyes huge like in those cat and dog hallmark cards. You can warp something and make it all weird looking. Thats basically what the liquify tool does. Thus, I've been playing around with it in class and I felt like posting some of the pictures here.
The first picture is just one of my friend Mike that I shot a while ago and the second image is a random image of Obama that our teacher gave us.

The Zoo

Yesterday I hung out with my friend from High school. His names Dan and we both went to the Technology Center of DuPage together. We we're both in the graphics program there and that's how we became friends. His first year in the graphics program was my second year so I was actually above everyone in the program because I was a second year student.
Hes not actually from my high school, hes from Brookfeild Illinois but I met him at TCD and we still talk online all the time. We're both so busy with college and working and stuff that we've never actually hung out before. The last time I saw him was the last day of TCD back when I was a senior in high school. We finally decided we were gonna go and hang out. Thus, I drove out to brookfeild Illinois yesterday and we hung out. He lives only a few minutes from Brookfeild Zoo so we went there to take pictures. He's also into photography and video as am I so we had a great time. It was an even better day yesterday because the weather ended up being so nice. It was also free day at the zoo and we didn't even know it. That made the day even better as well because we didn't even have to pay to get in. It was weird seeing him after not having seen him for four years but I'm glad we hung out.

Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally I'm able to post my Halloween blog, I've been so busy since Halloween.
Halloween was a fun day! I got to hang out with some friends, get some hours in at work and eat candy. All in all it was a nice Halloween.
I opened at work in the morning and was only there until about 12:30 when they told me they didn't need me anymore. It was more dead then usual because it was Halloween so they sent me home. Usually I want as many hours as I can get but yesterday was a different story. It was dead, I was tired and deprived of sleep and it was a holiday. It was just one of those days where I really didn't want to be at work so when they asked about sending me home I said I would gladly go.
After I got off work I was really tired so I actually took a nap for a while. Later on I went to my friends house and we hung out all night. We walked around for a while and went to some houses, later on we watched some scary movies and we ate pizza. After that her sisters came home and we had some of there candy and by that time it was already 10:00 pm. I left around then because I was so tired and I needed to get some sleep in before I had to wake up for school the next morning.
Friday night I had worked until close and by the time I got home it was almost 1:00 am. I woke up at 8:00 am the next morning so I could get ready and be at work. I stayed up late again that night (Saturday) because we had the Halloween Party. By the time I went to bed at 1:30 am I barley got any sleep because I had to wake up again at 8:00 am and then I was up until midnight on Halloween. Talk about no sleep.
This week I will be catching up on my sleep!
